photoblog image The Street

The Street

2009 Retrospective - I had a number of images I took last year that I would have liked to have posted on SC but time didn't allow.  For the time being I am posting a number of these, in no particular order, which I hope you will enjoy.

Saltaire, Yorkshire, once again and two views of parts of Caroline Street, each with a splash of red in.  I took these because Caroline is my daughters name and I thought she would be amused by this, which she was.

Just for something different here is Sweet Caroline" sung by Elvis instead of Neil Diamond.

I like the way you have hooked these two scenes together, Brian.
Brian Walbey: It wasn't till I got home that I thought these two might work together Ray, thanks for your comment.
wonder if the guy who has the car works for the post office as a painter
Brian Walbey: We'll never know Derek smile

Brian Walbey: I think Caroline liked this when I emailed it to her. Sadly I was never a great fan of Elvis.

I actually thought it was one image when I first saw it, Brian, so well done! Seeing Elvis again, in his skinnier days, sure was fun, too! smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie. It was sad that Elvis led a life that caused him to "balloon" so much before he died.

Brian Walbey: Many thanks vintage.
Very nice diptych Brian. I love the red touch!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, it was seeing the two red bits that made me put these two together.
Nice double Brian, and as you know, I like a little red in pictures..! smile I am sure your daughter would have found this quite funny. Love Elvis.

like it...
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Rob.
Nicely put together Brian.A good find to have the red under the street name on both.
Brian Walbey: I must be honest and admit the red was more by luck than judgement Ron.
Looks like a Mark 1 VW golf Brian.
Brian Walbey: I'll take your word for it Richard, you are obviously an expert.
One for the family album, Brian!
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed, thanks Tom.
A fine pair you have there Brian. I like the connections.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chad, although I didn't make the connection till I got home.
Very clever Sir Brian. Prefer Neil Diamond....saw him on stage in the 70's
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill. I was never an Elvis fan actually, he could still have been around if he hadn't abused his body like so many of his ilk tend to do.

Tsch, tsch, Brian; how could you have a video of Elvis rather than Neil Diamond? I prefer the post box to the VW!
Brian Walbey: I thought the Elvis video was a change and it was also a bit shorter smile
Work well together Bria, well spotted.
Brian Walbey: Many thanks Les.
