photoblog image Cheviot Hills 2/4

Cheviot Hills 2/4

2009 Retrospective - I had a number of images I took last year that I would have liked to have posted on SC but time didn't allow.  For the time being I am posting a number of these, in no particular order, which I hope you will enjoy.

During our July holiday in Northumberland we had a ride on the Heatherslaw Light Railway, which I featured in September, http://brianaw.shutterchance.com/photoblog/Heatherslaw_Light_Railway_/

The railway runs alongside the River Till at the foot of the Cheviot Hills and this was taken through the glass window of the moving train.  This is the second of the images I will be posting from this train ride.

Gorgeous scene, Brian...I can hear the Till, chattering to me about this and that...

Brian Walbey: It was running fast after rain, earlier in the week it had overflowed and flooded the train track, and this was July!

The glistering (Ginnie thought it 'sounded' good) of the water makes this picture.
I do mean the reflection of the sun in the water.....wink
Wonderful picture.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Astrid, "glistering", a good word, I shall remember that smile
Makes me long for summer days Brian!
Brian Walbey: You and me both Bill.

It looks lovely Brian: I pine for the sun!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris, I think we all pine for the sun at the moment, and its warmth.
I have been pining for a bit of sun this week, I can imagine sitting on that river bank with a picnic and feeling warm! mmm...
Brian Walbey: So could I Linda, however a few days previously the river had overflowed covering the train tracks as well.
Lovely scene, Brian - you were fortunate to find a clean window!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tom, yes I was lucky on that score.

Good image from a moving train and the window must have be clean
Brian Walbey: Thanks vintage.
Nice ri[pples on that wide river and those clouds, so typical of Britain - normally looking threatening.
Brian Walbey: It was a nice summer afternoon Chad, we found a nice teashop and garden nearby after the train ride, what more can a man want.
This could be here. Similar landscape to PEI.
Brian Walbey: That's interesting to know Mary, this place would be a home from home for you then.
I'll have to take a trip up there sometime Brian, looks a fine part of the world.
Brian Walbey: It is lovely up there Les, it would be nice to return, and the railway is quite a novel little one as well.
