2009 Retrospective - I had a number of images I took last year that I would have liked to have posted on SC but time didn't allow.  For the time being I am posting a number of these, in no particular order, which I hope you will enjoy.

We had a competition in my camera club last November called "Space".  I suspect the idea was things in the sky but only two entries reflected that idea.  This was one of my entries which I took at Bewdley last spring.  I didn't win with it, or with the other one you will see in due course. I called this one "Reserved."

Personalised...just for me!

Not yet, Brian...but perhaps in a few years...
Brian Walbey: I hope not Ray, nor for me either.

Very reserved Brian!
Brian Walbey: The trouble is that this car park was a very long walk away from the centre of Bewdley, beyond comprehension.

well the title suits the subject perfectly, don't you just hate it when the disabled carparks are the only ones left
Brian Walbey: I do agree Tony but for all that I'd rather not be disabled and would gladly try elsewhere.
Reserved indeed Brian. Well seen and captured!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard.
All I can say Brian is, I wish I had taken this.
Brian Walbey: That's very kind of you Chad.

You may not have won, Brian, but this is exactly what the doctor ordered.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie, believe it or not this disabled parking area was a long way from the main part of town and the shops.
fits the theme perfectly
nice one
Cheers
Rob
Brian Walbey: Thanks Rob.

Reserved? As in standoff-ish? Shy in coming forward? wink Good thinking for the photo competition.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan, I suspect the person who came up with the idea was thinking rockets, planets and stars etc., there was only one entry with that as a subject.
Good thinking on the space theme, sorry you did not win!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Linda, I'm sorry I didn't win as well (:
Expresses the concept well, I think. Can't imagine why you didn't win smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tom. There were quite a few entries, it's really down to the individual judges taste, although I admit he was a good judge.
I do have a blue badge...my gripe is when young folk park there and then there's no room for people like me,that cant walk very far.
Brian Walbey: I can sympathise with that feeling Ron, fortunately neither of us has that problem and I hope it remains so.
Funny place Bewdley, almost impossible to park anywhere!
Brian Walbey: I couldn't agree more Bill, this car park was some down the river frontage, a long way for disabled people to get into the centre.
Sorry you didn't win. Did the "sky space" entries win?
Photography and art is very subjective and many judges make their decisions based on basic rules and what appeals to them.
Brian Walbey: The judge on this occasion was quite a good one Sheila and very entertaining. he picked a river shot with lots of "space" between the boats and the river bank, it was quite good.
Your idea was a good one, Brian. Wasn't there a prize for the runner-up?
Brian Walbey: Thanks Beverley. We have 1st., 2nd., 3rd. and 2 Highly Commendeds, sadly I didn't get anything this time, better luck next time I hope.
Great image for the theme space. It fits well and it's pretty original.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Paul.
