Loughborough Market Place 9/9

Whereas the previous images in this series were taken on 11th.December, this was taken last Saturday, the 19th.  Maureen entered a compeition in our local newspaper and lo and behold won the first prize of a Christmas Hamper.  This is her receiving the hamper from the Mayor of Loughborough on the market last Saturday morning.  It came complete with cutlery and china and a nice selection of wines and goodies to eat.

If you are not looking in tomorrow I will wish you a very Happy Christmas now, otherwise you can pick up my greetings tomorrow.

I can see you with that cane contraption on your back, hiking around the moors to find Maureen an ideal spot for a picnic.

Nice one, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ray, Maureen on the moors alone with me and a picnic hamper, now there's a thought, in the summer of course smile
Congratulations and well done to Maureen. It looks like a nice basket to keep even after the all goodies have gone.

My congratulation to your wife (what kind of competition?)- wonderful and just fitting your Christmas meals (in German we call just a big thingy a "Fre├čkorb")- Happy Christmas to you and yours and bon appetit! !
Brian Walbey: Thanks Philine, and a Happy Christmas to you and yours also.
Fabulous luck, Maureen! I won a Christmas draw years ago - a children's art set which I gave to my niece.
Brian Walbey: This was a nice surprise Mary, we will savour the contents over the Christmas and New Year period.

Oh well done to you both (I assume that it is for sharing?)! What a lovely surprise and just at the right time of year, too. I assume, though, that you will give your winnings to the needy - like me!

Best wishes to you both for Christmas.
Brian Walbey: If we drove down to Southampton with the hamper Alan we might well have eaten and drunk it all by the time we arrived so I think it better we curtail the journey at our front door smile Have a very happy Christmas from us both.

Yes, Maureen, there is a Santa Ckaus! smile Astrid just told me about this, so I'm glad I was able to meet Maureen up close and personal! Gefeliciteerd!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie, she isn't doing bad for a lady of 62, except for needing two hip replacements, I fear one will have to be done during 2010.
