An Autumn Walk in Clumber Park 5/7

On 9th.October we paid another visit to Clumber Park, near Nottingham, a National Trust property, and had a nice Autumn walk along the lake and back through the woodland.  The light was excellent and, using the new G10 once again, this weeks postings are a few of the shots I took on that walk. Details of Clumber Park are at http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-clumber_park-2 .

Turning off into the woodland and looking back is this pleasant view down to the water and the Greek/Roman style building on the other shore.

You have that G10 running hot, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ray, I am well pleased with the G10 at the moment.

I totally agree with Ray. Another idyllic and peaceful place, Brian. You've been visiting a lot of them lately!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie, and this walk finishes on Sunday if you get time to look in.

Oh this is lovely Brian: reminds me of Stourhead
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris. I have looked up Stourhead, not somewhere I know but this bit of Clumber is certainly similar.
This is reminiscent of Stourhead Brian. Lovely picture
Brian Walbey: Thanks bill. Stourhead, via Google does loook a bit like this.
Blimey...that's what Chris said!
Brian Walbey: Great minds think alike bill smile

Have a good weekend
Brian Walbey: It was very peaceful there Tracy, have a good weekend yourself.
I guess this was the summerhouse, Brian. For afternoon teas and summer assignations!
Brian Walbey: Might well have been Sheila, what a spot to have an assignation smile
This is just superb Brian. I love your composition and the light!
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Richard.

This, I suppose, it what the view was intended to be by the landscape designer.

It's really lovely.
Brian Walbey: You could well be right Ellie, thanks for your comment.
Lovely scene Brian. Great to look right through the picture to the building.
Brian Walbey: That's how it struck me when I saw it Ron, thanks for your comment.
Very pretty shot today.
Brian Walbey: Thank you very much Mary.
Yes the Stourhead mausoleum came to mind as well ... this is really good Brian.

and once more ... this is really really good Brian .. one of your best in my oppinion.

Try one in black and white as well.

richard
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, I've looked Stourhead up, it is similar. I've also tried the B&W option, I might post it later on.
This makes me think of Stourhead House in Wiltshire, Brian. They have a very similar setting. Lovely colours in this.
Brian Walbey: Your not the first to mention Stourhead Alan, it is similar.
So relaxing, beautiful shot Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Linda.
What with the "temple" at the focus point, this could almost be a scene from a movie set in Graeco-Roman times: off to consult the Oracle... Wonderfully composed, Brian!
Brian Walbey: I suspect this is just what the garden designer had in mind Donald, thanks for your comment.
A bonnie place Brian. One I've not been to. I thought of Stourhead too.
Brian Walbey: It's a lovely place Ian, I think I must get to Stourhead as everybody has mentioned it.

Yes, Chris is right: "reminds me of Stourhead" (Flora-temple), too, or the English landscape garden in W├Ârlitz- a beauftiful picture- lovely framed by the trees and wonderfully lit by the October sun! Clumber Park may be my place I have to visit someday!
Brian Walbey: Why does everybody know Stourhead except me Philine. You would like Clumber I am sure.
nice.
Roman is what it shouted to me....
lovely area.
Cheers
Rob
Brian Walbey: Thanks Rob, yes, probably more Roman than Greek.
