photoblog image Seen And Heard 5/7

Seen And Heard 5/7

This series of seven pictures were all taken in Hebden Bridge or Haworth, Yorkshire during our recent weekend trip by coach.  All the images came out of my new Canon Powershot G10, the first real chance I have had of using it seriously.

The second lot of street musicians I came across in Haworth was this choir.  They sounded very good, (I am an ex chorister so I tend to be a bit critical at times) and a large crowd stopped to listen.

One of my favourite pieces I used to sing in my choir is the one at this link

Enjoy it if you like more serious music and have a few minutes to spare.

How nice to see a choir Brian: I like this sort of thing
Brian Walbey: They sounded good as well. I think you might enjoy the link if time allows you to listen.

Nice one, Brian.

Look like they are 1 baritone short, so you could have helped out if you were not pre-occupied with your new toy.
Brian Walbey: I am a baritone Ray but they did have some men already, I was just busy snapping away.

Choir singing has been a part of most of my life, Brian, as you know, so this image is special to me. And I really did enjoy that YouTube piece when I listened to it a couple days ago!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie, I'm so glad you enjoyed O Magnum Mysterium, a wonderful piece to "wallow" in when singing it, if you know what I mean.
I like a good choir. Good series this Brian. I'll have a listen to the clip later
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, I'm sure you will enjoy the link if time allows you to listen.

Thanks for the Youtube link, Brian.. I will enjoy that tonight when my day's toil is over. Singing is just one of many things I can't but I do like to listen to others that can.
Brian Walbey: The music on the linkmis ideal for relaxing to Alan, enjoy.

I like this choir pic and I love concentration and devotion of the ladies while singing- and your "favourite piece", too! Wonderful! Music is in some way the most heavenly art!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Philine. I will try and find some more choral music as time goes on that you all might like.
I think you done them there ''girls in black'' proud Brian.

richard
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Richard.
Beautiful choir singing and i am sure the ladies were just as good.
Brian Walbey: They were very good Linda but the music is chose is not really for singing in the street.
nice shot with a great splash of colour.....

Cheers
Rob
Brian Walbey: Thanks Rob.
Good photo Brian, and good link which also led me on to other things.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Sheila. The trouble with YouTube is, as you said, it leads one to other things and the time just wizzes by.
The Welsh enjoy their singing too Brian...something I never got into..but I like listening. Nicely taken.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ron. I'm not Welsh but for several years I sung in a Male Voice Choir and of course we learnt all the favourite Welsh hymns that are all very popular.
I have just listened to the music Brian. It is simply beautiful.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, I thought it would be to your taste, I am going to search out some more as time goes by, secular and sacred hopefully.
I will listen to the music link when no one is around. The choir looks in good form.
Brian Walbey: Well I hope you enjoyed the music link Janet, it is a very relaxing piece to sing and listen to.
Well they certainly look like they were enjoying themselves Brian, well caught.
Brian Walbey: And they sounded good Les, thanks for your comment.
