photoblog image Lack Of Space

Lack Of Space

I found this car in Kingswear during our recent visit on a railway excursion.  Obviously it is far too big for the garage and the owner has to do this.

Anyway some bright spark came up with the competition subject "Space" for November in my camera club, hence this is called "Lack of Space", nothing to do with planets and stars, which I suspect was intended.  Any problems and I will say "Check your dictionary" !

It would have been interesting backing it in there and getting out of the car
Brian Walbey: Yes I would like to see how the owner gets this in and out vintage. Thanks for your comment.

Great way of thinking outside the box, Brian!
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed Ginnie. Thanks for your comment.

Innovative.

The guy has bought a car to use to hold the garage door part open so the cats can get outside to pee...
Brian Walbey: Well that's one way of looking at it Ray.

Lol @ Ray.
I was actually thinking that he bought the car to hold up the garage door so he didn't have to use his keys to get in when he walked back from work.
The bin bag plays an important role here as well dont forget lol smile
Brian Walbey: You might well be right in your assumption, what idiot buys a car too big for the garage!
As cars get bigger and bigger less of then fit in garages! Nice off beat take on the competition subject Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill.
An amusing shot, which raises lots of why questions. Well spotted. The driver must be stick-thin to get in and out!
I think I would have obliterated the number plate, or at least made it unreadable, before putting it up.
Brian Walbey: Never thought about the number plate Sheila, mind you he/she leaves it there for everyone to see anyway. Thanks for your comment.

Something to be said for compact cars, bet my Barina would fit
Brian Walbey: I had to Google Barina to see waht they look like Tony, smart little cars and this garage sjould be ample to fit that in, unlike this Merc.
Might as well leave the garage door open ... and use it as a car port.

richard
Brian Walbey: I couldn't agree more Richard, a case of "big boys toys" I should think.
Barmey and practical all at the same time Brian. Well spotted.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Chad.

Hahaha - love it Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris, I suspected this might appeal to your sense of humour.
Great capture Brian. Well observed. When one buys a new car he should mesure his garage first!
Brian Walbey: Couldn't agree more Richard, I trust his home is secure from inside the garage.
This guy must work for ASDA as this is about the size of there parking bays.
Brian Walbey: Lol. Are they as big as that where you live then Martin smile

Hahaha- oh, the big car's, some of them look like real show- off's, yes, we can see them proudly showing their nose and their lighting eyes, not their behind! What's about safety?
Brian Walbey: Big boys toy Philine, at least that is how some of these Merc.owners see themselves. I hope there isn't a door from inside the garage in to the house.
Gosh, the owner must be pretty thin. Well spotted and good luck with the competion brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Janet.

Yikes, that is a tight squeeze
Brian Walbey: Perhaps they should go out and buy a bigger house to match the car smile
Well..this is funny..Makes you wonder why they bothered. A great picture Brian. Yes..enter it.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Ron.
LOL.. well seen, Brian. Most modern cars have become bloated and are too big for many garages now and indeed driveways down the side of some houses. Good luck with the competition.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan.

Judging by the rope on the iron work, it looks like this owner may have attempted something rather Heath Robinson before settling on the old "towel in a bag on the bonnet" trick.

Me, I'd rather not have to worry about remembering to put the bag on the car every time before closing the garage door..
Brian Walbey: Definitely a bit of a pain harv to do that every time one goes in and out.
Absolutely superb!! The effort that must be involved to park the thing in there must be a real test of the driving skills. Or maybe the cars afraid of the dark so the caring owner leaves the ajar smile Cracking find Brian..
Brian Walbey: Thanks Dave. There actually isn't much room for him to manouever in the street outside, just an alleyway.
FANTASTIC find! LOL smile
Brian Walbey: It takes all sorts Paul, I wouldn't buy a car too big for my garage even it was a Merc.
This one made me chuckle! I love this type of shot and I am always looking out for them. They apear when you least expect them.
Brian Walbey: Glad it amused you hayley. I just can't see the point of buying a car that doesn't fit in the garage, mind you I suppose a Merc.is a bit upmarket.
