photoblog image Across The Bay

Across The Bay

As a follow on from the pictures taken along the shoreline at Seahouses that I posted last week is this one showing more of the typical Northumberland beach there.

This is looking North and on the skyline is Bamburgh Castle, one of the famous ones along this stretch of coast.  You might realise that this is from almost the same spot as the evening picture I posted recently http://brianaw.shutterchance.com/photoblog/Northumbrian_Nightfall_/

I am particularly fond of all the grass you feature in your shots, Brian.
Brian Walbey: It gives a good base to the picture in this case I feel Ray.

Its a terrific stretch of coast, Brian.. wild and generally unspoilt as you shot shows here.
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed Alan, we really liked it there.

Lovely lighting here Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris.
We once got caught in the Haar walking along here. The temperature dropped like a stone and you couldn't see a thing. The speed with which it rolls in is amazing!

Still is is a beautiful beach and Bamburgh Castle is wonderful
Brian Walbey: We liked it there Bill, perhaps one day we will go back on our own rather than a party and we will be a bit more free to go where we want.
Looks empty, lonely, desolate and wild. And I know that parts of it are. Good shot.
Brian Walbey: You've summed it up well Sheila, thanks for your comment.

In my opinion, this kind of scenery is easily the equal of some tropical beach. it has its own windswept beauty and the light is wonderful. Good photograph.
Ingrid
Brian Walbey: I couldn't agree more Ingrid although maureen has always fancied a day or two "chilling out" on a tropical beach. Thanks for your comment.
Interesting rock pools below then Brian...Nice landscape.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ron.
What a wonderful place Brian. The lighting is superb!
Brian Walbey: It is a lovely coastline Richard, and the light was excellent, even though it was late morning which is supposed to be a no no.

I like the beach shot but am not crazy of the processing.
Brian Walbey: It is a nice beach mary, I used a touch of the Topaz plug-in, a bit too much probably.

Good photo I like the little flowers
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much vintage.
A dramatic sky with dramatic shadows on the sand. Bamburgh castle is a gem.
Brian Walbey: I was lucky to get a sky and lighting like this Chad. I was surprised just how big Bamburgh Castle is.
Nice one.
Is this topaz or HDR?
very striking colouring
Cheers
Rob
Brian Walbey: Thanks Rob, this has a touch of Topaz, actually I think in retrospect a little too much.
It looks glorious Brian... but I've known about the wonders of the Northumberland Coast for quite a while. Sometimes I think we should keep them a secret.
Brian Walbey: Fortunately I think its distance from most of the country does put people off going, plus a lack of big resorts and cooler temperatures.
looks like a good place for an invigorating stroll. Nice shot Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Janet, yes this is a very nice place for a stroll, or to just sit. Mind you I bet its not quite so nice in mid-winter.

A fine stretch of the north east coast Brian, and a castle in the distance to boot. Nice one.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Les.
