photoblog image Polesworth Abbey

Polesworth Abbey

On the same day I went out with a friend and took the image of a Pendolino I posted on 22nd.May we also called in to this lovely little abbey at Polesworth.

You may remember that I sent this collage to the Father at the abbey and this is now on their website at http://www.polesworthabbey.heralded.org.uk/?q=node/719

I think you could print a book of all the collages you have of abbeys and churches/cathedrals, Brian!
Brian Walbey: You might be right Ginnie and there are some more on the way later this month.

You make me blush with shame Brian. I know where Polesworth is (because of the WCML) but I didn't know this place existed!
Brian Walbey: I didn't even know Polesworth existed Chris so at least you were one up on me.

Your fine images adorn more than a few websites l imagine Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tony but only this one and the one from the church we go to.
Great stuff Brian, no wonder they put it on their website
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Bill.
Very nice presentation Brian. A lovely little Abbey and I see they have an icon on the altar.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Janet. This was during Lent and they had taken the cross away and put an iconic picture of Christ in its place.

You should check out the publishers to see if they are intrested in a book on church photographs in G.B,I think you have enough pics.in your archive by now? Very nice presentation Brian!
Brian Walbey: I probably have Graham but not up to the standard required for a book.

So what differentiates a church form an abbey, Brian? I always assumed that an abbey was a big building but that's not the case! It's a fine capture and testament to your skills that your photo is used on the Polesworth site.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan. When we were told about this place I imagined a big building not this small one.
