photoblog image Our Yukka Collage

Our Yukka Collage

We have a Yukka shrub in our front garden.  It started off quite small and now it isn't, small that is!

This year it has had four seperate branches and is an attractive thing while it is flowering.

This is a collage of the Yukka and some close-ups of individual blooms.

One day it will have to go but I don't feel up to trying to dig it up, any offers :)

Wait for bob-a-job week if they still do it,i bet it is more than a bob these days Brian?
Brian Walbey: A bob, my word that takes me back Graham. I suspect it is "a few quid-a-job" week these days if they still do it. smile

Leave it there, Brian...let it take over...decorate it with fairy lights every holiday...
Brian Walbey: It is taking over Ray and the ends of the leaves are very sharp if you accidently back on to them while mowing the lawn.
So that's what a yucca looks like. I've got some shots of this that I was going to post one day but never knew what it was. Older and wiser.
Brian Walbey: I reckon we each learn something every day on SC Alan, take this as your lesson for today :-D

Well done Brian: a very agreeable montage. These things can be so photogenic when they're in bloom
Brian Walbey: It's great in bloom Chris, but looks rather sad now the flowers have died off.
Bit to clever for me Brian ...I think i'd prefer just one image . sorry.

richard
Brian Walbey: It's o.k.Richard, I only done the montage because I felt 5 shots of the same boring plant is too much, even for SC.
Quite a clever one Brian..Nice.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Ron.
Nice way of showing some of the detail Brian, only comment is that I would have darkened the sky down a bit to match the top insert image. well presented.
Brian Walbey: Thanks les. The insert was taken on a different day with a blue sky. The main picture had a bald sky, I suppose I could have borrowed a better one from Chris's shedsmile

Nice collage Brian. They are so beautiful in flower.
I have some in my garden and now wish I didn't they are so big.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Aussie. We can't believe how big ours has got over only a few years. They seem to start new complete sections every year.

It's very pretty. Is it fragrant? It would not survive the winters here.
Brian Walbey: They look nice flowers when they are out Mary but they don't bloom every year. I will admit we wish this woudln't survive the winter, it's got far too big.
