Grantham Trains - 1 of 2

As a contrast to this weeks pictures of Bourton-on-the-Water this is one of the Inter City 225 trains that run up the East Coast Main Line from Kings Cross to York, Newcastle and Edinburgh among other destinations.

This was taken during my recent trip to Grantham Railway Station, as you can see the line is straight here for as far as the eye can see.

More details about these trains can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/InterCity_225

Nice. Was in Grantham years ago but never saw the Railway Station
Brian Walbey: I hope I'm not sounding sexist when I say that railway stations for pleasure are mens things Jennie smile Thanks for your comment.

I've never been on this station Brian. Chad & I went to Grantham once but all we were interested in was eating. I expect they get quite a lick on through here. Lovely shot!
Brian Walbey: This was a stopper Chris but the expresses really move through Grantham. Thanks for your comment.

A world away from your delightful Cotswold images. A very whizzy train by the look of it yet I notice signs of days gone by with little glimpses of the station buildings. When I used to be a rich man and could affort public trasnport, I do recall going through Grantham on my way to York.
Brian Walbey: My friend used to go spotting here in the fifties and says the whole station is as it was then apart from modern signs and a newish footbridge. At least some things stay the same Alan.
A beautiful capture Brian. What treatment did you use for the colours?
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, I used a touch of the Topaz plug-in on this and you will see another example of Topaz tomorrow if you chance to look in.
the topaz has put some pizzaz into it...
trains..

Cheers

Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Rob.
I like the way you've got the length of the train in this shot and can still see clear down the track.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Sheila, just behind me though there is quite a bend, but they don't slow down.
Shows how up to date I am. I thought it was a misprint and you meant Inter-city 125!
Brian Walbey: I'm not really familiar with these Bill not living near the ECML anymore. We are off to Northumberland by the way.
I like the depth here Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Janet, I thopught my little compact done quite well with this.
You sure get around Brian, first Bourton then Grantham, If I remember right the 225s operated by GNER have a Flying Scotsman crest on them as a tribute to the original Flying Scotsman that ran between London and Edinburgh. Not a patch on the A4 steam engines though.

The Topaz filter has worked well to bring out the detail, nice one.
