photoblog image Salò Waterfront

Salò Waterfront

In 2003 we went on holiday to Lake Garda in Italy and toured the area by coach and boat.

This was taken from one of the lake steamers as we left the village of Salò, midway between Desenzano at the south end of Lake Garda, and Rive del Garda at the north end. It is a scan from a 6" x 4" enprint hence the lack of sharp detail.

Well the weekend is here again, have an enjoyable one.

Turned out quite well for a scan from a small source, Brian. Certainly good enough to tell me I would like a first person view of this place.
Brian Walbey: Thanks ray, I'm sure you would enjoy the whole area as much as we did.

This is a lovely composition Brian: it reminds me of my trip on Lake Geneva last year
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris, it is a nice way to see these lakes on the steamers isn't it.

No clue visible Brian that this was a scan.. it looks fine. It looks to be a lovely area, too.

Would not have known this was a scan, have you got a high grade scanner? Did it cost a lot? Nice shot well composed of this beautiful area.As all my pics are prints from negitives, and i am soon to go digital i will have to seriously look into, and learn this process as i will try and transfer my collection to the computer. Hope its not very difficult as i am still a computer novice (and a bit thick)Hope you have a good weekend Brian. Thanks for todays post, brings back happy times spent in Italy, such a delighful place with so much to offer.
Brian Walbey: This was done with a middle grade scanner Graham which I have now replaced because it didn't like Windows XP sadly. My new scanner is not so good for slides/negs..Thanks for your comment about the photograph, as you say a delightful place. When you do go digital it is worth paying out for a good scanner be it flatbed and/or negative type, there are plenty of forums and reviews on the web for the different types including Amazon.
I've never been to Italy but knew immediately it was taken there before I read the description. Looks like a beautiful place Brian smile
Brian Walbey: The Lake Garda area is lovely Pamela, we are really glad we made the trip.
A fine Italian postcard Brian, and with good memories to go with it I am sure.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Les, it was a great holiday, one of our best.
No mist and no rain, so different to when I went there...or was that lake Como?
Brian Walbey: The weather was fantastic Chad, a heat wave, and +100 F every day.
