4566 at Bewdley (Old)

I posted a colour version of this on 18th.May that looked like this http://brianaw.shutterchance.com/photoblog/4566_at_Bewdley_/

Clare remarked that she would like to see it in B&W. I have done the conversion but then decided to add an old type border and sepia tone it in the hope that it looks an old picture.

Looks old, Brian...you done good!
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Ray.
I think you have succeeded in your aim, so well done for that, but I still prefer the colour version.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Sheila, I prefer the colour one as well to be honest.

Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Bill.

Thank you Brian, both have great merit.Lots of good points and very well presented.I like both posts.Your blog plus other good ones like Chris , Bill ,Ellie ,Les ,Nigel and others has made me decide to do away with my M.E Super Pentax, and get some up to date kit in time for my retirement in December. Thanks for sharing your pics.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Graham, I hope you keep looking in up to and past your retirement. Perhaps getting some new kit will mean we might see you on Shutterchance in time to come as well.
Looking good Brian, the sepia suits it well. I have just had a quick can through my rail archive and it seems I don't have a picture of this one on the SVR, a few other Praires but not this. I do feel another steam series coming on.
Brian Walbey: I always enjoy your steam series Les, in fact I have been enjoying your Flickr groups on that subject. Thanks for your comment.
Pretty effective, I'd say.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Ian.

Good effort Brian: you'll be in the Bill Phillips league before too long!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris, I don't know about the Bill league though, his imagination knows no bounds!

Both versions are very good, Brian. I like the aged feel of this but it's unfortunate that the border has masked part of the buffer beam. A lovely edit though, despite this.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan. I will admit to not noticing the cut-off buffer beam until you mentioned it.
Really good in black and white despite not seeing the green livery. For me the border does nothing ... infact it detracts my eye from the protagonist.

Simple is good in my book Brian. richard
Brian Walbey: Thanks for your comment about the mono Richard. The border was a bit of messing about and to be honest I prefer the colour one or the strictly B&W version I haven't posted.
I like it better like this
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Albert.
