Oaks-in-Charnwood 3/6

Moving up in to the chancel of St.James parish church, Oaks-in-Charnwood we have the ministers lecturn on which she kneels to pray and the altar behind.

The cross above the altar is woven in to the backcloth and you will note there is no actual cross on the altar as a lot of churches remove this, or cover it up, during the season of Lent.  Because of Lent there was also no flowers in the church including the window I have featured several times over the past few months.

[We are going to Shropshire for a short break, and meeting Bill at Clent tomorrow morning for a walk, talk and bacon buttie. I will catch up with your pictures and comments after we get back.]

Ohhhh, do say HI to Bill and one day I hope to share the famous bacon buttie with you! In the meantime, this minister has a holy place for worship.
Brian Walbey: It's a lovely church Ginnie, I once sang a concert in there with a Male Voice Choir, it was a nice experience. I will enjoy my buttie with Bill tomorrow.

Gee the maid service has gone downhill. That doilley thing is on crooked, and even the knee mats are not quite right!

The photographer did ok, though.
Brian Walbey: Lol. Thanks Ray, I should have noticed and straightened them up my self, it wouldn't be the first time!
tsk tsk Ray....
Another nice inside image.
Enjoy the trip and the buttie!!
Cheers
Rob
Brian Walbey: Thanks Rob, Chad tell me the butties are fabulous. We will see.
I'm looking forward to meeting up with you tomorrow. Let's hope the weather holds!
Brian Walbey: Likewise Bill, the forescats looks reasonable, unless they change their minds tonight.
Be warned, the bacon butties are fabulous. Have a great time.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chad, I will dedicate my first buttie to you smile

Those bacon butties might be enough to lure me back to the UK. It would be great to catch up with as many sc's at the same time.
Brian Walbey: And it would be nice to catch up with you Aussie after your somewhat disasterous visit last year.
Nice soft lighting for this Brian. Enjoy your day tomorrow.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ron, I'm sure tomorrow will be a nice day.

Youve done well to get this lit from front to back - on-camera flash? Nice and serene.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Harv, yes I just used the pop-up flash on the camera, fortunately there was quite a lot of light coming through the windows.
Have a great time with Bill tomorrow Brian. Fine shot.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, I am sure we will enjoy each others company. Thanks for your comment.

I like the brightness of the carpet; looks to be in good condition. I hope the bacon butty went down well.
Brian Walbey: It's Thursday for the visit Alan, I can't wait for the buttie. Thanks for your comment.
You captured the rich colours well Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Pamela.

A nice church detail Brian. Take no notice of anything Bill Phillips tells - it's all lies!
Brian Walbey: Forewarned is forearmed Chris, I'm sure we will enjoy each others company. Thanks for your comment.
