photoblog image At the Garden Centre (7/10)

At the Garden Centre (7/10)

Near to yesterdays picture of a fern and trellis at the garden centre was this triangular bed with all these small pots waiting to be purchased.

As you can see the afternoon presented me with lovely low, clear winter light.

another nice one from the garden.
I would have been tempted to crop / compose closer in.
Cheers
Rob
Brian Walbey: Thanks Rob, you might be right but I liked the triangular shape of the stand.

These blue labels look strange in the extreme Brian...
Brian Walbey: But they do clash colourwise with the red pots quite nicely Chris.

Poms are funny, eccentric people...you found a gardener who sells plastic pots with blue plastic labels sticking out the top?

In conservative Thailand, the pot is usually sold with a lush living plant sticking out the top...call me old-fashioned, but I like the lush plant idea.

[grin]
Brian Walbey: You might well grin Ray, there are a lot of "Poms" who would go along with you, an instant garden at the wave of a wallet smile

Those plants are just waiting for there spring flush of growth, no eternal summer like in Thailand
Brian Walbey: No we have to grow from scratch over here Tony, thanks for your comment.
Very nicely composed Brian. I like the graphics here!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, it was the triangle made up of square shapes that I particularly liked.

For some reason or other, this made me think of Bill & Ben, the Flower Pot Men. The labels immediately looked like little figure.
Brian Walbey: Your right Alan, each one peering over the edge of the pot. Thanks for your comment.
smile A curious collection of pots very well placed!
Brian Walbey: Thanks José.
There is something slightly comical about these pots Briangrin
Brian Walbey: Certianly doesn't look very much for one's hard earned money Bill.
Nice shot Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Albert.
Great light. Here's an idea - let's do away with flowers, they're so much trouble. We'll fill our gardens with brightly coloured plantpots instead. Will it catch on?
Brian Walbey: Certainly save a lot of money from year to year Ian just having empty coloured pots smile
They look a cheery bunch
Brian Walbey: Indeed they do Chad.

There doesn't seem to be much growing there apart from the label!
Ingrid
Brian Walbey: Your right Ingrid, perhaps that is why we never bought one.
