Shepshed Spring

Taken yesterday morning the flowers of Spring give a welcome to all who travel into Shepshed, where I have lived for almost twenty years, from the A6 and North Loughborough.

Sadly the twinning organisation is lacking in members and is in danger of having to wind up.

Shame about the twinning. It has been a lovely spring so far
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, it's going to break up tomorrow for the school holidays, as usual.

I shall have to look up your delightful location on the web Brian
Brian Walbey: Delightful is a slight overstatement Chris but after nearly twenty years we quite like the place, and the countryside around is very pretty.
Not easy to be twinned with a French town Brian! Fine shot.
Brian Walbey: Thanks for your comment Richard.

you'll need to explain that one!!
twinned??
ball of string
English Breakfast Tea??

Rob
Brian Walbey: Twinning is where two towns, villages etc.from two different countries forge close links and parties make social and educational visits to each other Rob. Definitely not tea although I am pleased you have heard of it smile

I think maybe it is supposed to be "Sheepshed" but the signwriter couldn't spell...
Brian Walbey: It was "Shepshed" at one time Ray, there was a great cottage industry of weaving wool from local flocks in cottages, pre factories, in the olden times. The name just got changed as very often happens.
