MONOCHROME MANIA - PART2 #5

Hutton-Le-Hole

One of the favourite places to visit in North Yorkshire, we went their during the 1970's and I took this picture of the green.

There are so many different possible compositions and viewpoints at this lovely village that it would be easy to fill a memory card these days I think.

(All of the pictures in this series were taken on B&W.film, developed and printed by me, and sometimes entered into Club competitions.  This is original monochrome work and the only digital bit is scanning the prints into Photoshop and preparing them for display here.)

So we are at the weekend again already, back on Monday with week 2 of this set, have a good one.

I could have seen you there Brian. I went in the 70s to see the NYMR, which I'm sure you did too
Brian Walbey: I've seen the NMYR several times Chris but Hutton only the once.
The strong contrasts are quite striking, Alan.
Brian Walbey: Thanks for your comment Chad.
Greaty point of view Brian. I like the strong contrast!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, I feel this is a bit too contrasty, middle of the day light probably.

I just want to move round a little to the right so that the cross is not caught up in the houses behind - I think it would stand out better. Do you think you could go back and do it again please?!
Ingrid
Brian Walbey: Your probably right Ingrid, I was only just starting out at the time, now I would study the composition a bit more. I would like to go back agian one day though.
Nice shot Brian...LOL at Ingrid. We rode the NYM railway a few years back. Great part of the world
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, the whole area is one of the nicest in England IMHO, unfortunately a lot of other people feel the same, hence it's always busy.
We were there just north of Pickering in Feb'1972..just to find the snow...we did. The best holiday we ever had. Interesting picture Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ron, some of our best holidays have been in this area, before and after we had our children.

I like the dark contrast on this. Would love to visit Yorkshire one day, as with a dozen or so other places and SC just enhances the urges
Brian Walbey: Perhaps one day you will get to Yorkshire Aussie, I know you would enjoy it. We do get to see the world on SC though don't we. Unfortunately I hate flying so tend to stay grounded in the U.K. Thanks for your comment.

This is nice, I'm inclined to agree about the extreme contrast though
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ellie, I was still learning darkroom techniques at this time so all is not as good as it should be. Thanks for your comment.

Dear Brian, yes it is Sunday again, so some time to spare on SC, wonderful posts great B&W, love the series.
Have a nice evening.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Astrid, I'm glad you are enjoying this B&W series, there are still five more weeks to go with a break in between. Hope all is going well for you in Holland. Have a good week.
