Waiting Their Turn

With all the heavy snow on Thursday Maureen had made up a bird cake which she put out in the wire bird feeder box at the bottom of our garden

It didn't take the birds long to discover this delicacy and they were lining up to be the next one to have a feed.

that sun emblem at the back is wearing a snow mask very appropriate for the season grin
Brian Walbey: At least most of the snow has gone now Zed, sadly so have the birds.

Talk about establishing a pecking order smile They must have a sweet tooth as the nut feeder has been ignored!
Brian Walbey: I think Maureen puts some quite sweet ingredients in this mix Alan, mind I've never tried it myself smile
I see the squadron of starlings have arrogantly cruised in and dominated the proceedings as is usual. richard
Brian Walbey: They are very arrogant as you say Richard, still we did have a nice mix of birds for a few days.
Very nice capture Brian. I like how they seem to be looking at each other!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, it's almost an "after you" moment.
"The Birds".....Starlings and maybe one Blackbird. I like the large cage for the scraps..I shall have to look out for one. Well caught though Brian.
Brian Walbey: I think Maureen bought the cage thing at a garden center or something Ron, I'm sure you'll find one o.k. Thanks for your comment.
Cool how the waiting birds are almost symmetrical. The snow covered sun tells it all!
Brian Walbey: This was the best arrangement of the birds from the collection that I took Mary. Thanks for your comment.

Nice capture Brian, like the coating of snow
Brian Walbey: Thanks Aussie, I bet some of your fellow Australians would rather the snow than those dreadful fires we are seeing on our T.V.news each day at the moment.
I think you have made friends for life here Brian.
Brian Walbey: Sadly not Chris, they don't normally seem to like our garden, on the day they had to make the best of it.
The starlings in our garden don't line up...the squabble non stop!
Brian Walbey: They do tend to fight when food is nearby don't they Bill. These were very polite Leicestshire starlings.
nice picture
Brian Walbey: Thanks for your comment Olivier.
What a great image Brian, slightly comical smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks for your comment Pamela
