photoblog image The Nativity

The Nativity

It matters not whether you believe in the nativity story, we all know that if that story had not been passed down through the years we would probably not be enjoying this Christmas holiday at all.

I came across this rather atractive little Nativity scene in the Parish Church of St.Giles & St.Nicholas in  Sidmouth, Devon, during our short break there just after Christmas in 2004 and I hope that, like me, you find it rather delightful.

Enjoy the rest of the extended Christmas holiday break over the weekend, however you are spending it and, all being well, I will be back on Monday.

It has great charm. I like the young Acker Bilk playing in the background
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, Ingrid thinks the guy with the beard looks a bit more like Acker. My father-in-law used to deliver Ackers letters when he worked.

Yes, very pleasant, Brian, and, of course, very topical. Not sure if Mary is praying to the baby or to the calf, though! Best wishes to you and your family.
Brian Walbey: Lol Thanks Alan, hope you enjoy Boxing Day as well.

Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, glad you like the picture.

Brian Walbey: Lol. Now where have I heard that before I wonder. Fortunately those days are well behind us. Thanks for your comment Paul.
