photoblog image Pensthorpe Reserve #4

Pensthorpe Reserve #4

The final shot in this short series from the Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, North Norfolk is of the Summer Millenium Garden, an area of closely planted shrubs and flowers which seem to exist in waves of colour across the area in front of you. I hope my photograph gives some idea of the beauty of this garden.

The reserve is well worth a visit and details are available at http://www.pensthorpe.com/

It's totally worth it, Brian. It reminds me of a Monet painting!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie, I think this has achieved the effect I was looking for.
Isn't that amazing! I think this stuff is called Bistort

Whoever planted this has got a painter's eye - lovely.
Ingrid
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ingrid, I suspect you are seeing in this the same as me, it was certainly a nice garden to be in even though it was a dullish sort of day.
Superb variety of colours.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bernie, it was the close bands of colour that caught my eye.

Lovely garden, beautiful colours.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Aussie, this nature reserve was not too far from where you went while you were in Norfolk.
This is so lovely Brian. The colours just flow in waves through the picture
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, that's how I saw it when I walked in to this part of the garden. Also, like Tuesday, I have given this a bit of the Orton treatment.
There is a painterly quality about this, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chad, as I told Bill, who knows about it, I have used a process called tthe Orton effect for this one. Details are available at http://pcin.net/update/2006/11/01/the-orton-effect-digital-photography-tip-of-the-week/
