photoblog image Pensthorpe Reserve #1

Pensthorpe Reserve #1

During our recent visit to North Norfolk we spent a morning at Pensthorpe Nature Reserve not far from Fakenham, and where Springwatch was broadcast from in the Spring.

The place is centered round some old sand and gravel pits with a vistor centre etc.and details can be found at http://www.pensthorpe.com/

I took this little trio of ducks, although I am not sure what species they are, suffice it to say I liked their colouring and the shapes and textures in the water.

Just wait till Chris/Bill/Chad calls them the Three Stooges...or till maybe Tracy/Astrid/Ginnie calls them the Three Musketeers. grin
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie, you got in first but Tracy was on the same wavelength.
That's a nice combination there Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks for your comment Chris.
Beautiful composition Brian. I like the silverish aspect of the water!
Brian Walbey: I must admit I didn't notice the attraction of the water till I looked at it on my PC Richard. Thanks for your comment.

They do make a very pleasing composition. Lovely effect with the silvery water.

Brian Walbey: Thanks Ingrid, I never really noticed the nice water until I got back home.

Brian Walbey: Thanks Paul, I really don't know what type of duck they are. Do you think they might go well with orange saucesmile

It's the water that catches my eye more than the lovely ducks, it looks desperately cold
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ellie, it was a cold morning and as you can see the water looked very grey and uninviting.
Nice coloring on ducks, and the water is great.
Brian Walbey: Thanks for your comment, I didn't notice how interesting the water is until I got back home.
Ducks seem to be a popular photographic subject, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Yes Chad, it's surprising how often ducks, or at least swans, are featured on SC. Thanks for your comment.
