Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe

This, believe it or not, is the theatre near the seafront in Ilfracombe in Devon.

It is the most unusual shaped building from the outside, it would be interesting to see the auditorium inside.

This was taken on a cold day in May and that is why I have converted the shot because of the almost bald sky. Fortunately it brightened up later in the day.

You do it full justice Brian: I've been there & was startled by the architecture
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris, I'm glad I'm not the only one a bit bemused by this place. Glad you all had a good day yesterday.
Wow this is a surprise ... From the thumb I thought it was cooling towers in the Vale of Trent. Interesting town council vision. richard
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, obviously somebody at the town council planning committee had great imagination, or a very liquid lunch smile

I thought just the same as Richard! What an amazing building, especially for a small Devon town.
Ingrid
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ingrid, as I said I would love to see inside, some of it must be below ground I imagine.
Like both Richard & Ingrid you have really shocked me by saying it is a theatre. Like your take on it.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bernie, i had thought about selective colouring the daffodils in front but that was too much like hard work.

Brian Walbey: Thanks Tim, being a dull day I thought it would look better in B&W because of the bald sky.
