photoblog image Belton Steeple

Belton Steeple

Not far from where I live in Shepshed, Leicestershire is the small village of Belton and it is here that I took most of the pictures in my collage of Cottage Doors I put up some time ago.

Walking round the village one evening we found the church of St.John the Baptist was undergoing a steeple renovation and this is my attempt at making a graphic style image of the scaffolding. The works are now completed and we enjoyed a pleasant interlude in the church at their flower festival on August Bank Holiday Monday, some pictures from which I may post in due course.

Brian Walbey: Thanks Tracy, I must say that now the scaffolding has gone the steeple looks very grand.
Ha - I thought this was Babel Brian!
Brian Walbey: Some parts of Leicestershire might well be called this Chris, but certainly not the lovely little village of Belton.

WOW this looks tall and steep, great shot, you did a great job!!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Astrid, this church is right at the centre of a lovely little English village. This is a link to a little website set up for the village with rather a nice picture on it http://www.leicestershirevillages.com/belton/

Thought this was a pagoda from the thumbnail! I like the graphic quality to this shot.
Ingrid
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ingrid, it does look a bit like a pagoda with this finish.
I see you are into Astrid style signatures too! Like the shot, that is some scaffold Brian!
Brian Walbey: I done this a while ago Bill, I have since generally stopped putting my signature on pictures as I use them elsewhere and it looks a bit pretentious. Thanks for liking the shot, no way would you get me up that scaffolding.
This looks a little like one of those Soviet Suprematist sculptures from way back, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chad, I suppose, on reflection, it does look as you suggest, mind you, a lot of themn have probably been knocked down by now I suppose.

Great image, processing and composition. Nice placement of the copyright too!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Harv, just thought I would follow Astrid's lead with my signature.
