photoblog image Tenby Night

Tenby Night

I've not done much, if any, night shooting in the past so I gave it a go at Tenby when we were there, as the harbour looks very pretty with all the reflections.

I used the night program mode on my Olympus and rammed the camera tight against a lampost to avoid too much, if any, shake.

I'm quite pleased with it although it isn't really good enough to enter into my Clubs forthcoming Night Photography competition enlarged up to 15" x 12".

Back from Norfolk today, have a good weekend, I will try and catch up on your pictures and any comments.

The slight softness gives this a painting quality Brian. I like it
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, I was quite pleased at this for a first effort at night photography.
A picture postcard Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chad, I have used this as the closing image on a short audio/visual I have done from my Tenby pictures.
That's a very creditable shot Brian: love the saturated colours
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris, I think I done the right thing by shooting while there is still a little light in the sky.

The Three Stooges in front of me, I am honoured to be the 4th.
THIS is postcard quality, beautiful lights I just keep staring at it.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Astrid, it's just as well the lads probably won't read your comment, and I won't tell them smile

A very good effort, Brian, with a cracking subject. The time of day is about right as wel las there is still some colour in the sky.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan, this is a new subject for me. Ihave always been told to shoot just before total darkness as you say in your comment, one or two I took later are just too dark.

I like the reflections of the lights. Lovely image.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Aussie, I might put it into a competition at my camera club for night shots just to see if the judge likes it as well as you nice people on SC.

fabulous night shot Brian, looks a lovely place to visitsmile
Brian Walbey: If you get the chance to go to Pembrokshire Tim take it, it is lovely area and Tenby is delightful, and in some ways a bit old fashioned.
