photoblog image Tenby Morning

Tenby Morning

Another shot taken from my hotel bedroom window during our recent holiday in Tenby, with the "classic" view of the harbour once more.

I have decided to give it a slightly toned B&W effect rather reminiscent of old fashioned postcards, I hope you think it works.

I immediately recognized this, Brian, and love it in B&W!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie, several others have said they like this in mono as well. Nice to have your work appreciated.
That is a delight Brian: an excellent picture
Brian Walbey: Thanks for your comment Chris.

Tenby, August 1967. Morris minors and Triumph Herald convertibles amble along the waters edge, the beatles are playing on the mono radio and I've just bought this weeks edition of 'The Beano' for one old penny, to laugh at Minnie the minx and the antics of Pansy Potter!

This works beautifully, Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Paul, and for the memory of being at the seaside in the old days.
This works for me. Floog is right, it looks like something from the 60's
Brian Walbey: Thanks Pat, it seems the idea of mine to age the photo has come off to peoples liking.
Very crisp and charmingly toned, Paul. I would have enjoyed a touch more to the right though.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chad, unfortunately I took this from my hotel room window and immediatly to the right is a wall, I was already leaning out as much as I dared!

a beautiful view from your hotel and a "charming toned" pic indeed! The town looks at distance a bit like a toy town- the world seems to be here still in order!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Philine, it is a charming little seaside resort in the far corner of South Wales, and to a certain extent time has passed it by. You can find out more about Tenby at http://www.virtualtenby.co.uk/
Works extremely well Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, I think the old fashioned postcard feel has come over.
Yes, I think it works very well.
Sharp, well-toned and the composition is well managed.
Nice work.
Brian Walbey: Thanks for your really kind comments Gabor.

It certainly does look like an old postcard - you have captured the mood perfectly. It looks so neat and tidy!
Ingrid
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ingrid, the whole place, down near the seafront seems very neat and tidy, I'd like to go back again one day.
Caught the scene well Brian and the toning works well.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Les, this was a great view tolook at from our hotel bedroom window each morning.

You picked the right processing for this one, Brian. It's stunning.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Kay, I'm almost blushing at your enthusiastic comment.

Brian Walbey: Thanks Tim, I've just told Richard that of the two this is the one I prefer myself to be honest.
