photoblog image Tenby Harbour #1

Tenby Harbour #1

We spent the last full week of July on holiday with a group of friends in Tenby, South Wales, and unusually for us, we had a whole weeks good weather.  Unfortunately being with a group meant not being able to do much serious photography so my postings from there will be very much of the "chocolate box" variety.

I am starting with the "classic" view of Tenby harbour with the tide in, and this was taken from our bedroom window, what a sight to wake up to every morning.

Tomorrow I will feature a similar shot but with the tide out, and all the boats in the harbour "beached."

Talk about a room with a view, Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie, we couldn't have asked for a better view, I took it at all times of the day and night, and with the tide in and out.

A beautiful image, matched by the frame. Postcard perfect, and guaranteed to put a smile on my face. Superb, Brian smile
Brian Walbey: Glad you like this Paul, and thanks for your comment.
This is glorious Brian: reminds me of a visit there myself not too long ago
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris, it really is a nice little resort, not too much of the candy floss and bingo arcades etc.
Lovely view to wake up to Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Michael, bit different to looking at the house across the road every morning.

Memories of some great times as a kid Briansmile
Nice shot, pity it's raining today we could do with some of that lovely sunshinesmile
Brian Walbey: It's nice to know my photo has brought back a few good memories Tracy, I certianly agree about the rain, it's pouring at the other end of the A50.
Nice composed shot.
Brian Walbey: Thanks for your comment Sesan, it's a lovely place to photograph.
Nothing wrong with chocolate box Brian....where would I be without it. This is a perfect picture postcard.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, chocolate box doesn't bother me either, it's just these snooty judges in camera clubs who lack imagination, and I've seen plenty of those.
I`m happy you posted this `chocolate box` picture. It is beautiful. (:o)
Brian Walbey: Thanks Rosalyn I'm really glad you like it.

"Chocolate box" or not who cares with a view such as this. What a sight to see every morning. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan, this was a nice place to look at out of the hotel window. I hope you will enjoy my other postings from this area, as I said I did not have a lot of chance to do serious photography.
Chocolate box indeed! This is a lovely shot of a pretty harbour, what a wonderful sight first thing each morning.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Pat, mind you it might not be quite so nice during a winter storm.

I was brought up in South Wales but never went to Tenby. It looks a little like toytown from this vantage point. Very pretty.
Ingrid
Brian Walbey: What a shame you never got to tenby Ingrid, I suspect you would find plenty of material there. Thanks for your comment.
