photoblog image Thornton Reservoir

Thornton Reservoir

So finally a few of the pictures I took at Thornton Reservoir, not far from Junction 22 of the M1, a couple of weeks ago, and well worth a visit if you are travelling that way.

As you can see the reservoir is surrounded by some very atractive scenery and this time the swan picture is more standard, as against my posting of 27th.June.

I hope you all have a good weekend, back on Monday, all being well.

Quintessential Englishness here Brian- a lovely collection, almost makes me want to come back to the mainland!
Brian Walbey: Thanks David, you'll know that there is some nice places to go in England as well as where you know live on Skye. Thanks for your comment.
This is a very agreeable photo collection Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris, it's a nice place to go for a quiet afternoon during the work, when the workers are at work.

You do these collages so well, Brian. It's all very inviting!!
Brian Walbey: Thanks for your praise Ginnie, I finished an audio/visual this week of 20 odd collages and the individual photos that made them up, and will show it, with others, at the older peoples Luncheon Club at our church in November. I've done a dozen or so a.v's so far, it's good fun if you get the time.

Yep I am with Ginnie
Brian Walbey: Thanks Vintage, I like doing collages, sometimes the individual pictures are not too strong, but as a group they come over better.

Have a good one yourself! Nice collage as always. By the way I have one especially for you lined up for tomorrow if you get chance to have a look
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, I look forward to tomorrow with a modicum of excitement!
Beautiful collage as usual Brian. My favourite picture is the one with the gate.
Have a great weekend!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, as you probably realise it is the same gate I featured on Wednesday from a different angle.
It looks like a beautiful place, Brian. Lovely collage, but I am a real sucker for the cygnets and ducklings. There is just something so unbearable sweet about them. (:o)
Brian Walbey: Thanks Rosalyn, I'm glad you like this, and it's still a bit on your green theme of this week. You might like to look at the other collage from this place that I put up on 27th.June, it's completely different!

A lovely collage, Brian. It really helps the viewer to get a feel for the place. Nicely done.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan, if you ever pass this way again on one of your expeditions it's only a few minutes from Juncion 22 of the M1.
I recognise that gate! A superb collection of photos. Mama swan has her wings full with that brood of 6!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Pat, yes it is the same gate that I featured on the footpath picture on Wednesday.

Wow, lovely lanscaping. This looks like a nice place to spend a long and lazy summer day, complete with picnic!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Kay, it certainly is a really nice quiet place to be although we were their mid-week, I guess it might be very busy at weekends, and there is a nice garden centre, with a coffe shop, just up the road as well.
