Country Path

The area in which I photographed the swan I showed you on 27th.June is called Thornton Reservoir, for which photos will follow.

It is a very pleasant part of Leicestershire only a couple of miles from the M1 and footpaths abound for those who enjoy their walking.

This was the entrance to one of those footpathsand I think it sums up the attraction of time out in the English Shires on a lovely sunny day, with all the greens of this time of the year.

The frame and surround came with my new programme Serif PhotoPlus X2.

Lovely, lovely frame, Brian. I like that! And I especially like the gates for this footpath. I feel so invited to take a walk!
Brian Walbey: We didn't do the walk here Ginnie but thanks for your comment. It's raining today so only hardy souls will be doing this walk I should imagine.

Makes me want to take a stroll, good landscape.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Vintage, unfortunately as I type this a walk in this spot would be in the rain!
What a beautiful composition Brian. The perspective through the gate is so inviting! I like your frame.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, I have been playing about putting frames on pictures with Canvas Size, Edit Stroke and Edit Fill and sometimes it works.
A pleasing Sunday afternoon scene Brian. Well seen.
Brian Walbey: I can imagine this path is quite busy on a Sunday Les, there were quite a few people about on the Thursday we were there.

That's me, clambering over the bars and heading off for a stroll. A beautifully tranquil and scenic photograph, Brian.

Exactly my cup of steaming Java. Superb
Brian Walbey: Thanks Paul, it is a really nice spot on a fine day, that's not today of course.
It makes you just want to go through the gate & WALK Brian
Brian Walbey: Perhpas if time allows another day we might take a stroll on this path Chris. Thanks for your comment.
This certainly works for my `green therapy` week. Lovely image, beautifully framed. (:o)
Brian Walbey: Thanks Rosalyn. There's quite a lot of "green" going on on SC this week it seems to me.

Nicely framed, Brian. Today, it;s been raining hard all day and this has just brought a little sunlight in to me day! Very pleasant; where's my walking boots?
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan. You'd certainly need your waders up this way today if you fancied walking this path!
Quintessentially England. Lovely.
Brian Walbey: I feel this is a walk into out "green and pleasant" land Pat. Thanks for your comment.
Is this the first of a series on stiles and gates. There are loads of different designs. But not always easy to get the right angle on. Lovely.

Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, I'm glad you like it, unfortunately it isn't the first on a theme, "at the moment". Still things to do with the country tomorrow which you might like instead.

Brian this is just wonderful, it could be Holland, so green, just love the shadows, you did such a great job, also with the border.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much for your nice comment Astrid, I seem to remember, on a visit to Holland years ago, that quite a lot of the country is green like this.
