The Chase

Back to my recent Mallory Park trip one more time for the mid-week test session with my friend Graham.

Although it was only testing you get the feeling some of the guys were very keen to "have a go" and I caught these two nose to tail at the hairpin late in the afternoon.

I don't know who they were or even the make of the bikes but I do like the compostition of this particular shot.

I remember that hairpin Brian!!! Nice shot indeed. At a guess, I would say that the bike at the back is a 500 Suzuki, an RG or something similar. Many regards, Neil.
Brian Walbey: I've always wanted to shoot at this spot Neil and on this day I had it all to myself. Did you look at my Monday and Tuesday last week by the way.

You and Neil could get together and have quite a GO at it, Brian, talking shop!
Brian Walbey: When I was heavily involved with motorcycle sport in the 70's Ginnie, not riding I would add, I will almost certainly have seen Neil's Dad racing we have worked out, and Neil would probably still have been in the pushchair. Small world.
Classic shot Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, I'm glad you like it. I might rest motorcycles for a bit unless something else comes along.
Very nice shot Brian. They really seem to have a go!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, I certainly got the feeling that some of the guys on the track were doing a bit more than just testing, still I suppose they need to compare their machine with others.

Impressive shot here and in focus....this is something I wold love to try once too, I mean to capture them with my camera....
Brian Walbey: Thanks for your praise Astrid, why don't you go to Assen for the MotoGP practice and/or races on 26th- 28th June and give it a try, if that isn't too far from you. I went there in 1966, half a lifetime ago!
Caught the action well Brian, and nicely composed.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Les, of course with this type of work there are several shots that don't come off for the one that does.
Nice action shot!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Jim, it was a good afternoon at Mallory with a rider friend on a practice day. If you like this sort of stuff some more shots from the day are in my archive around May/June time last year.
