Froghall #2

This is the second of my candid style pictures taken at the Churnet Valley Railway and shows one of the volunteers painting new lamp frames to be erected on the opposite platform. The dayglo jacket almost dictates the use of colour for this one.

I always enjoy workmen/women doing their jobs, Brian. IN COLOR! smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie, usually working people don't mind having their pictures taken, it's when they are not doing anything I get a bit shy!

Great picture and a great composition, love the way you cropped it.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Astrid, the timber uprights almost dictated the crop on this one.

you have to admire people like him who give up there spare time to preserve history for us to admire, nice shot Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tim, and it was dull, miserable and cold while he was doing this work as well.
Even the mundane and boring jobs need doing Brian, and it is down to volounteers such as this that we have heritage railways to take photographs of. An everyday scene well captured.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Les, it was mighty cold on the platform that day, as you say these people deserve our respect.
Bet his wife can't get him to paint the spare bedroomtongue
Brian Walbey: Funny you should say that Bill, Maureen can't get me to do ours either!

@ Bill, he hasn't got time to paint the spare bedroom, he's too busy enjoying himself!

I like this picture, the way it shows somebody don't a necessary, but fairly mundane job - and elf and safety's got in the way and made him wear a dayglo jacket!
Brian Walbey: All heritage railways staff have to wear these dayglo things these days Ellie, somehow it ruins the effect at times.
