Froghall #1

Having said I would try a bit of candid work this is the first of four I took at our visit to the Churnet Valley Railway on 20th.April a very dull and dismal day.

I liked the way these four men were talking about who knows what before it was time for the train to leave.

This well could've been a fifty year old photograph, Brian. Actually, that was I initially thought, until I've read your narrative.
Brian Walbey: Thanks for your comment VZ, I tried to make it look a bit old as that is how it struck me at the time.

Hi Brian , shame about the chaps trainers ... thats the only giveaway . great shot , and not a mobile phone in sight to TEXT on !!! Just talking ... what are they thinking of. Great . :0)John
Brian Walbey: Not much I could do about the trainers John, but thanks for comments.
The great thing about pictures like this is that you can weave your own story around it. The chap in the cab is certainly holding forth about something..complaining I reckon!! Good start to the series Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, the chap in the cab is probably complaining about Gordon Browns 10p tax swindle, he looks the right age to be affected.

an image from days gone by, great treatment. mal
Brian Walbey: Thanks Mal, a diesel loco wouldn't give the same effect as this I feel.

This one is very good, love the pp you did, love the way the two men are having their hands deep down in their pockets......just men-talk around here, very very nice job....
Brian Walbey: Thanks Astrid, the guy talking certainly seems to be making a point about something. Glad you like it. Brian.

It definitely looks like a thing of the past, Brian. Well done!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie, I added a bit of noise to the image to give it a very slight grainy effect. The dull cold weather took care of the rest.

That's nice, grainy feel for a 'photo' of that time and I wouldn't worry about the chap's 'trainers' they look rather like walking boots to me.

It makes me think of time when people could stop and chat, instead of feeling pressured to rush, rush, rush all the time. It's nice.
Brian Walbey: I will be showing another one similar to this on Thursday Ellie, men just chatting etc.so I hope you will enjoy that one as well.
