MUSIC FOR A CHURCH: I played one of my favourite pieces with a church picture recently and the video below is of another favourite piece of mine. We learnt it in the choir I used to belong to but for some reason the Musical Director decided not to perform it. It is the choral arrangement of Samuel Barbers Adagio For Strings.

The place looks huge!
This choir is very good.
Brian Walbey: It is a very large church Elizabeth as you will see from the series later this year.

I didn't know there was a choral arrangement for that, Brian
Brian Walbey: Indeed there is Lisl and as you can hear it is a beautiful piece of music to listen to and especcially to sing, i have no idea why our conductor didn't perform it, we were good enough to do so.
You have sung some magnificent pieces in your day, Brian. What great memories!
Brian Walbey: I have sung all my life in one way or another since I was about 7 or 8 and joined the church choir, I so miss it now I can't do so any longer.

What a wonderful music this is, Brian. I think that the choir would have sounded great in this church too.
Brian Walbey: It is a beautiful piece isn't it, why we didn't perform it I have no idea, there was nothing wrong with our rendition. When one sings something like this in a church or cathedral rather than a conert hall being there in such a place adds to the feelings one gets inside because it is where it's meant to be sung.

It must be great to sing this. I can imagine a very restful mood following.

I love Barber's adagio but I have never heard sung. Wonderful! Actually better than that it is sublime!

Quite a church, so there should be good pictures forthcoming.
Brian Walbey: It is quite a large church and very much in the local style for that part of Norfolk.
We have a church of the same name here, an Orthadox church that I put a bid in on for stained glass windows.

What an interesting piece with all the minors chords. No happiness allowed here. Don't they perform well here!
Brian Walbey: I'm presuming you wanted those windows for yourself Care. The music is a very good choral arrangement of the very well known orchestral piece and the choir is, IMHO, excellent.
That's a fine looking building!
