A Visit To Melbourne, Derbyshire 5/7

Alongside the other side of the lake at Melbourne were some fine trees, not quite ready to break out into their summer display. These two caught my eye and I thought the image looked better presented in monochrome. Good of the Swan to come along and place itself in just the right position for the photo.

This b&w treatment works very well here Brian... i like the way that it makes the trees into fine silhouettes....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Peter.
It DOES look good in monochrome, Brian, especially with the swan so nicely situated. smile

I think the inclusion of the swan makes this a very good composition
Brian Walbey: That's what I felt when I saw the swan coming along.

Yes...a well-trained swan you have, Brian.
Brian Walbey: I keep it in the car boot and inflate at the right time Ray smile
He sure looks lonely, the swan
Brian Walbey: He'she did have some friends elsewhere on the lake.
I quite like it in monochrome Brian. The swan is a real bonus here!

Mono fits the scene quite well, I agree. Good swan smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Louis.

A quiet, calming photo - good to see in these turbulent times.
Brian Walbey: Yes and it was quiet and calming sitting there with not many people about. To be honest I don't find this world of ours a very nice place at the moment, I don't wish it on my children and grandchildren one bit as it is.

Very pleasing indeed, Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Lisl, it was a pleasing place to sit that morning.
You're right, Brian - looks good in mono
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tom.
