Chocolate Wine!!!

We came across this at the Ashby Country Show at Ashby-de-la-Zouch in the summer.  I really hadn't ever heard of chocolate wine before, but sadly they weren't giving away any samples for tasting.  We didn't buy any, I seem to remember it was about £17.00 per bottle!

Not right, is it...I mean...wine is for guzzling, and chocolate is for gorging...why would you want to combine the two...
Brian Walbey: I can't possibly imagine why Ray, although perhaps the word "profits" comes in to the equation somewhere.
Might be worth the money...
Brian Walbey: I quite enjoy wine, I love chocolate, preferably the dark kind, but a mix of both, I'm not really sure, especially at that price, about $28 in your money I think.

I don't think it would be to my taste, Brian, but interesting....
Brian Walbey: Nor mine Lisl, but if it is dark chocolate then I might find it quite tasty.

I like chocolate and I like wine but I am not sure that I would like this Brian. I like curry and I like porridge, but I would not put them together.
Brian Walbey: On both counts, or is that recipes, I heartily agree with you Chad.

I hate to say this but it sounds disgusting!
Brian Walbey: If it was dark chocolate I might deign to give it a try, if somebody else is paying!
Chocolate I like, wine not so much
Brian Walbey: And both together, what a strange mixture.

Chocolate liquor, yes, but wine? That's a new one for me, too, Brian. I bet it is worth a shot or two. HA!
Brian Walbey: A new one for me also Ginnie, although if it is dark chocolate, well, I'd give it a try if somebody else paid the bill smile

Best not let Ingrid see this - combines two of her favourite pleasures in one!
Brian Walbey: A bit late for you to order her a bottle online Mike. I hope Ingrid is keeping well, she is sorely missed from these SC.portals.

The things they invent and people wonder why they grow fat wink
Brian Walbey: Indeed Astrid, not really to my taste, or pocket to be honest.

That's a new one on me too. I don't think I'd even try it.
Brian Walbey: I might give it a try if it is dark chocolate and somebody else is buying smile
I know nothing of chocolate wine, but I imagine it has plenty of interest! grin
Brian Walbey: At £17 a bottle it would have to be very interesting Martin.
Sounds awful and at that price I would not have risked it either grin

THe chocolate will taste great Brian...£17 is quite on the high side..
Brian Walbey: Especially if it is dark chocolate, but not at £17.
Found a review on the Web - says it is dreadful!
Brian Walbey: I'm not surprised Tom, they didn't seem to be having many customers at £17 a bottle.
I like both wine and chocolate Brian, but I have never tasted the Mix. Fine capture.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard. I'm not sure that I would like to taste this stuff to be honest.
Lol, for a french it's just a bit....strange smile
Brian Walbey: Not particularly appetising is it.

I thought this May be your normal evening supply of drinks, Brian. Shame there was no sample.
Brian Walbey: At £17 a bottle certainly not Alan, I might not even like it. I hope you are safe from any effects from the storms down your way, it seems to have been quite bad, especially out to sea.
