photoblog image From The Competition Folder 16/28

From The Competition Folder 16/28

A series of images I have used in my Camera Club competitions that I have not previously posted.

LANDING STAGE

I've featured images from the marina at Sawley, near Nottingham on here before.  This one just caught my eye as I liked the reflection of the quite narrrow landing stage in the water.  This is one the Judge liked but it didn't get in to the final awards.

Not one of your best, Brian, so don't be too disappointed.
Brian Walbey: I agree actually Ray, but I did like the reflection so i gave it a go.
I like the reflections too Brian!
Brian Walbey: Yes that was why I took it in the first place, I have taken better shots though.

Perhaps it needed an object placed on top Brian?
Brian Walbey: It certainly needs some centre of interest to be honest.

At least didn't say "Bollards" or similar. I like the slight ripples to the water.
Brian Walbey: It was the water that led me to take this to be honest, not the most inspiring of my pictures though.
The reflection is always fascinating Brian.
Brian Walbey: That's why I took this in the first place Chad.

A good combination of solidity and fluidity.
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed Mike, but not the most inspiring of my images.
nice water reflection
Brian Walbey: That's what caught my eye Chantal.
I like it Brian great reflection.
Brian Walbey: Thanks peter, the reflection was the reason for taking it.
Good one, Brian - I like the minimalism of it!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tom.
It perhaps lacks a certain spark Brian
Brian Walbey: Definitely not one of my best Bill.
Simply wonderful Brian. What a lighting!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard.
Yes, it is the relections, Brian.
Brian Walbey: It wouldn't be anything at all without the reflections to be honest.

what do judges know?
Brian Walbey: To be honest it isn't one of my best and it depends what the other Club members put in as well.
