Stratford 1/5 - Taking A Chance

Before we actually met anyone I saw this chap watching a street entertainer and said to Maureen I was sure it was Ron, and if so that would be Linda just behind him.  So after taking a picture of him photographing the entertainer I walked round and said to the lady, "Are you Linda by any chance?"

Fortunately she said yes and we all introduced ourselves, I would have looked a right twit if I'd being wrong!   What none of us realised till a few minutes later was that Michael (Murphy) was standing right next to us behind the lady in the pink blouse.

On the basis of this I guess Ron must have a similar shot with me in the background taking a picture also.

Nice one Brian and I like the story too!

You must have a strong constitution Brian to be brave enough to take photographs of complete strangers ;-) ;-)

LOL.. always good to put a face to a name! You build up a mental image and I'm still surprised when people don't look like I thought they would!! smile
Brian Walbey: I know what you mean Alan, although I think most people there had at some time put their own pictures up on SC.

Yes yes yes and yes. The lady in pink/magenta got in for free, I see. That's Linda's husband, Steve, standing in between Linda and Mick. Thanks for posting this, Brian.
Brian Walbey: I forgot to mention Steve Ginnie, slap my wrist!

A lovely story Brian. Nice to meet shutterchancers!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard.
The lady in red is wondering what is going on.
Brian Walbey: What was happening actually was a very good street entertainer doing fire eating and sword swallowing and generally being a good laugh.

Haha- funny reportage! It must have been very hot on 10 April 2010: The pink lady has taken a water bottle with her and shows bare arms and bare feet in sandales - what a memorable day! Oh, Stratford becomes busier and busier- but fine photographers might recognize each other, immediately! Is Linda Ron's daughter?
Brian Walbey: It was a lovely spring afternoon Philine but there were so many people with cameras the SC crowd didn't stand out. yes Linda is Ron's daughter and they are both lovely people.
The others had introduced themselves already I take it. What a relief that it was Linda. lol
Brian Walbey: I was relieved Janet but at this time I hadn't met anybody, we were still walking around filling time.
You sure caught me Brian..so I've been looking to see if I had one of you in the same crowd..but no...so you are safe lol.
You can see why I use the old fashioned walking stick..just hang it on your arm for picture taking..This is a good one Brian..Cheers.
Brian Walbey: I have one of those loops attached to my stick so I can do much the same as you Ron.
Well i was stood there and heard the names Brian and Ron and things just went from there.Nice one Brian.
Brian Walbey: Many thanks Michael, no doubt we would have found each other in the end.
lol. that's a nice story smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Charles.
Hope you enjoyed your visit. Never mind Wish you where here, I wish I was there.
Brian Walbey: Perhaps if there is another meet at some time you might be able to make it Martin.
Shoot out at Stratford? Who was the faster clicker?
Brian Walbey: Not me John, I havn't got a motor drive on the G10!
