Dovedale is one of the most famous scenic places to visit in Derbyshire, and indeed in the U.K.

A visit on Easter Saturday, 2007 saw a lovely day and lots of people visiting this beautiful place.

I struggled to get many shots without lots of people in them and hope you feel that this one gives a good feeling of the place.

My goodness Brian you were lucky not to have the madding crowds. Maybe they were all buying ice creams. goodun ....richard

Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, round the corner by the stepping stones it was heaving with people as it was a lovely Easter Saturday so I had to wait a while to get an almost empty scene.

This is a nice place to be, but I read the comment of Richard...you were lucky that it was so quiet, great shot.

Brian Walbey: This is a nice place to be Astrid, right in the middle of England in an area called the Peak District which is a national park. It wasn't very quiet round the bend in the distance!

i think the people in the shot add interest to what is a fabulous view Brian, looks a great place for a walk weather permitting of course

Hello Brian. Thanks for all your coments, have been a bit busy and have not had time to get to SC hardly at all.
This is a wonderful shot of a beautiful area. i have not been but we are thinking of going this way in the summer at some stage , just for a long weekend somewhere.. some nice walking would be good for us both. :o)

Brian Walbey: This is not the only dale in the peaks John but probably the most popular. Still worth a visit though. Enjoy your weekend if you come this way.

A lovely area of the country as you say, Brian. I've seen the river in flood on one occasion and even then they were plenty of people in wellies trying to make the most of it.

Brian Walbey: The stepping stones were covered on this day Alan so we went the long, but dry way round.

I used to visit Dovedale quite often when I lived in Birmingham, did enjoy the place. A very pleasant scene Brian.
