Hartlebury Museum 5/5

The Worcestershire County Museum is housed in the servants' quarters of Hartlebury Castle. Earlier this year Chris, Bill, Chad and Alan visited this museum, it is only a short drive away from Droitwich. I recall they featured some shots from this very authentic school classroom. We had desks like that at my first school complete with the holes in the top to set the Inkwells in, and the rows of coat pegs in the corner.

Being in this classroom gave me the creeps, reminding me of horrible school days
Brian Walbey: It was my Junior school that looked like this, my Senior one was almost brand new at the time.

There is nothing like a place like this to make one feel old Brian.
Brian Walbey: I couldn't agree more Chad.
We have a living museum nearby with a school like this.
Brian Walbey: It is a popular thing for museums to set up everywhere one goes in the U.K.

Like you I remember to have sat in such a school room in my first classes after the WWII.
Brian Walbey: My Junior school (7 - 11) was very much like this but the Senior school was quite new and more modern in design and contents.

Much the same as my first classes at school. We didn't have coat pegs, because we didn't have coats. This is SA smile The inkwells was great for dipping long hair arrangements of girls.
Brian Walbey: My Junior School (7-11) was like this but the Senior on e was nearly new with modern design and fittings etc.
I can almost smell the used textbooks & chalk, Brian.

I remember that sort of desk and the kudos of being ink monitor to fill the inkwells.
Brian Walbey: I was never well behaved enough to be inkwell monitor smile
i remember visiting a school in the Philippines in 2012 and it was just about what you show here minus the coat hooks, Brian.
Brian Walbey: This is very much of the era when many of us UK Shutterchancers went to school Ayush, the main thig is the young people in the Philipennes have the opportunity to go to school.

I never made it to Prefect at school but I did rise to the dizzy heights of ink well monitor for a term 😊 i’ve Got a shot to post at some points of Phillips Major and Phillips Minor sat at their desk and not paying attention
Brian Walbey: I look forward to the shot of Phillips and Phillips. I was an Assistant Prefect in my last year at school, only because everybody in that year, which was optional at the time, was a Prefect of one sort or another, my behaviour didn't warrant that honour in earlier years smile !!!!!!
