Hartlebury Museum 4/5

The Worcestershire County Museum is housed in the servants' quarters of Hartlebury Castle. There's some fine old furniture and knick-knacks on display in this area, I especially like the old organ in the corner, presumably driven by foot pumps at the base.

I remember bing in houses that had this look and feel when I was a youngster. #memories!
Brian Walbey: Very much the sort of stuff my Grandparents had.
These look like very comfortable quarters. The decor is a bit busy for my taste, but it looks comfy!
Brian Walbey: I gues this is furnished much as the generation before my Gradnparents would have lived. I agree about the wallpaper though!!

The organ would have been considered evening entertainment
Brian Walbey: The Virgin-Media or Sky box of its day.

I was drawn t the organ, too. I can just imagine evenings sat around the fire with the lady of the house banging out tunes.
Brian Walbey: I had much the same thought Alan.

A lot of stuff in here Brian.
Brian Walbey: Looks quite comfortable though.
I grew up with one of those old pump organs.
Brian Walbey: They must have been hard work on the legs.
i find that there is a lot too many things in this room Brian it seems cluttered....petersmile
Brian Walbey: I guess they shoved in everything they'd got that seemed to fit that period.

How tastes have changed, Brian
Brian Walbey: Very much so although I seem to recall my Grandparents, who all lived in a small country village, had bits and pieces of furniture like this.
