photoblog image Burnham Overy Staithe

Burnham Overy Staithe

During our visit to Norfolk last week we took in two of the Burnhams, a collection of small places near to the coast all beginning with the name Burnham.  This one is the small harbour at the end of a small creek which winds its way through the Norfolk marshes.

We didn't have the best of weather on this day but I took several shots of which this is one and, although it is a bit dull, I have tried to include a traditional Norfolk big sky.

More details of here can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burnham_Overy

I'm sorry, Brian, but there is absolutely NOTHING dull about this shot. I LOVE it. In fact, it's a Likey for me!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie, and I bet you would like this bit of the English coastline as well. Some more shots to come from here during the next few weeks.

Brian, this is such a great picture, LOVE the blue tones in it, the scene is soulful to me, I can just sit back and watch, you did a great job.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Astrid, if your flying to England in October you might even come over this bit of our coast so keep looking down. I'm sure you would find it a bit like the Dutch coast you probably know so well.
Mmmm .... this is so North Norfolk Brian. One of my favourite bits of coastline. richard
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard. We have always liked Norfolk and had a lot of holidays here when our children were young. We lived in Cambridgeshire and it was only about 2 hours and they didn't have time to get fed up in the car.

A lovely scene, Brian. I like the composition in this very much. It's not an area I've eve been to but I feel that it is my loss!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan. I'm sure you would like it in Norfolk, especially the bit from Hunstanton down to Sheringham. It is all marshes and inlets and little harbours like this, and don't ever believe anyone who says Norfolk is flat, it isn't and is very picturesque throughout.

Sometimes dull weather brings out the colours more. Nicely composed and I love the big sky.

Brian Walbey: Thanks Ingrid, your right about the dull light and of course it helps to keep the contrast down a bit.

Beautiful shot Brian, nice colours.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Aussie, there are pictures opportunities galore along this bit of our coastline just like this.
A nice scene well presented Brian. Like it.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Les, I always enjoy the photo opportunities of Norfolk and Suffolk further down as well.
This is a beautifully composed and presented picture Brian. It is just a pleasure to look at.
Brian Walbey: Thanks for your very kind comment Bill, we enjoyed it there although the weather was a bit unkind.
