Not far from Dovedale, Derbyshire, that we visited yesterday, is the Ilam Estate.

Here there is a big house, which is now a Youth Hostel with an excellent restaurant also, a lovely little church and a small village, all in the middle of beautiful hilly countryside.

One of the highlights of the village are these swiss style cottages on the path leading up to the hall.
