This is a superb long view, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Everything is in the right spot at this point for a reasonably good composition.
Isn't it wonderful to see how large it is from this distance. Very nice composition, Brian!

You visited on a fine sunny day, Brian - it's not often you see a stream as blue as that
Brian Walbey: Not just a visit Lisl, we stayed from Monday to Wednesday as Maureen's 70th.birthday treat.

What a grand building it is
Brian Walbey: Indeed, both inside and out. Nextw eek a few shots from the inside.
Those are the best views, Brian and you sure had a fine day out. Love the clouds too.
Brian Walbey: It is a lovely place to stay and we were lucky that day with the weather, the day after when we came home it was dull and very damp!
I always love when "a river runs through it," Brian. smile
Brian Walbey: Indeed so do I Ginnie, very often there wasn't a river and/or lake there originally and the landscape architects dug one out, well not them but the poor people who were struggling to make a living.

Nice to see the house sitting in this landscape.
Brian Walbey: It is a fine setting Chad, that part of Nottinghamshire is really quite pleasant once out intot he countryside.

A beautiful setting, with the castle there among the trees. As far as the river is concerned. I can now see where we got the bad habit of referring to brooks and streams as rivers. At least yours has water in it - in SA it would have been dry.
Brian Walbey: It is a fine setting Louis. I suspect with our 'heatwave' summer that little river might have been very low this year.

What a bright- blue river!
Brian Walbey: A combination of clear water and lovely blue sky.
I think you have thrown blue ink into the water.

It is in a fine setting Brian
Brian Walbey: Well worth going to, it was, I think, at least our third stay there.

I like the view across the river the open parkland and then the house itself.
