Grasmere Church 3/5

St Oswald's is constructed in roughcast stone with slate roofs. Its plan consists of a double nave, with a south porch and a southeast tower. The tower is battered (its walls incline inwards as the tower rises), it has lancet windows, and plain corner pinnacles.

The place looks to be kept very clean & tidy
Brian Walbey: It is Chris, with Wordsworths grave in the church yard it has a lot of visitors.

That looks like a very ancient Sanctuary Chair, Brian. Sometimes one is lucky enough to spot a Green Man hiding in the carvings of these old chairs
Brian Walbey: I have seen chaiors like this in other churches, sadly that area was roped off so I couldn't get up close to get a good look at it.

I like the feeling of peace and calm here.
Brian Walbey: We were lucky at the time we were in the church but with the hordes that visit Grasmere I guess it might be busy at times.
It has a lot of appeal Brian
Brian Walbey: It is all very smart and clean and tidy because of all the visitors on the Wordsworth trail.

Nice shot of what seems a cosy corner!
Brian Walbey: That was how it felt to me.
