Jeremy Barlow, the National Trust’s General Manager for the Central and East Lakes, also said “People will be able to come in and sit down in a comfy chair with a good book and a cup of coffee in front of a roaring fire on a cold day, or take a picnic out into the grounds to enjoy while playing games with their children. We’ve got loads of activities on offer for adults and children alike.”

A well-filled room, Brian.
Brian Walbey: And yet again comforable looking.
I've seen many rooms like this in houses in the Lakes, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Looks quite comfortable doesn't it.

The walls here look to be in a much better condition than in Wednesday's picture. What draws my attention is the picture list that runs right around the room. Hanging pictures was easier, but options very limited.
Brian Walbey: This room had been done up a bit. That rail round the wall is called a Dado Rail and lots of houses used to have them and pictures and paintings were hung from them, these days of course we just drill holes in the wall to put hooks in.
I could do exactly what they suggest Brian
Brian Walbey: So would I Bill, in front of a roaring fire if it was winter.
Sounds lovely. I once managed a place similar.
Brian Walbey: It is a fine place to visit and being mid-week it wasn't heaving with loads of other visitor.
