Great Central Railway (North) 7/7

Just outside the main platform at Ruddington stands this quartet of modern diesel locomotives, whether they are in running order or not I don’t know, but they appear to be in good condition. From the front working backwards they are Class 47 No. 47828, Class 56 No. 56097, Class 47 No. 47292 and Class 45 ‘Peak’ No. 45060 Sherwood Forester.

On Friday I showed you Maureens little batch of Tulips in our front garden, below is her Tulip display in a tub I bought her for Christmas, 2016, in our back garden.

Two colourful and attractive images today, Brian...don't ask me to pick one!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ray, the locos are for the men and the flowers for the ladies smile

With any luck these four all have a bright future on the GCR ahead of them

Lovely tulips..
Brian Walbey: They all look in good condition.
I find the Tulips of more interest than English Diesels, Brian....And thats no reflection on Maureens Tulips smile
Brian Walbey: I'm biased in favour of the Tulips Frank, indeed I'm looking out of the window at them now smile
Marueen's tulip display is perfection!
Brian Walbey: I'm looking at it now Elizabeth, it is in full view from our dining room window, right next to the new summer house we had put in on Thursday, more of that at a later date.
Lovely tulips.

Those locomotives were powerful beasts
Brian Walbey: Maureen has made them into a nice display, I can see them from the window as I type this. The diesels all look in good condition, whether they are ever used or not I don't know.
I'm doing a train culture. smile
Brian Walbey: Well this is the last trainpicture for a while Claudio, something completely different from Monday.

I suppose to the modern generation of rail enthusiasts that these have more appeal then steam locos (Lord knows why, though). My last manager at OS was a great fan of the Class 66.
Brian Walbey: Yes I was never a great fan of diesels even though the early ones were tested out on servcies where I grew up in the late 50's.and early 60's.
They do look in good nick - as do the tulips!
Brian Walbey: They do look to be in very fine condition Tom, I wonder if they are in store from other organisations who might pay a rental to leave them there.
