Great Central Railway (North) 6/7

Another shot of the 8F No. 8274 looking between the rolling chassis of yet another steam engine awaiting lots of bits and pieces to be fitted back on to get it back in running order. There is also a diesel multiple unit there as well but whether it is in running order or not I don’t know.

gobsmacked
Brian Walbey: Thansk ray, I take it you like this one.
Seems like quite a project!
I like the variety of things to see in this photo!
Brian Walbey: yes there is a lot to see, this is just one small area of their yard.

Well the 8F is in steam, even if everything else appears to be in stages of dereliction
Brian Walbey: I'm wondering if the 0-6-0 in the foreground is work in progress, as and when time and funds allow.
The trend now seems to be to build locomotives from scratch
Brian Walbey: There are at least half a dozen 'new build' projects under way at the moment including this one https://www.p2steam.com/ being built by the same people as Tornado.

It all seems like a massive undertaking; where there is a will, though.. oh, and the cash.
Brian Walbey: I suspect cash and volunteers but they do have a lot of diesels they are working on as well.
Nicely drecepit, Brian.I really like these yards when you can wander.
Brian Walbey: There is quite a big area like this.
i love this scene Brian... all of the broken down locomotive parts and there is one that just sprang to life...petersmile
Brian Walbey: There is a big area like this, I don't quite know why the working engine isn't with all the other running ones.
Putting some of that to rights is going to take work!
Brian Walbey: A lot of work and even more money Tom.
What a contrast, some rusted cars and behind the smoke from the chimney of a functioning locomotive
Brian Walbey: yes a real mix of the working and not-working, one day perhaps they will all be working.

" I thought I could, I thought I could...."
Very nice shot. The complementary colors give it such life.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bonnie.
