Great Central Railway (North) 5/7

The last time we went to Ruddington, which is only a few miles from us, there was just a single platform. Now a three road station is under construction but I suspect this make take a few years to complete as funding becomes available.

I looked out of the front window on Wednesday morning and the Sun was just shining on Maureen's little clump of Tulips so a quick photo was required. We hadn't got round to edging the lawn, it only stopped raining here overnight on Tuesday, but our daughter called in yesterday and done it for us, good girl, I think she earned her birthday presents for today.

The carriages seem to be crying out "Take us...take us! We want to see the Spring flowers.".
Brian Walbey: I think the carriages are basically in store, they have a longer set they were using for the punters to ride in.
The tulips are really beautiful! I love the colors!
Brian Walbey: It's only a small clump but looks really nice at the moment.
There is something timeless about the first image of the trains, Brian. There's almost a sense of sadness to it, as though it all was a thing of the past. (sigh)

Happy birthday to your daughter!
Brian Walbey: Strange to think it has only been put together during the last couple of years, but as the saying goes, 'from little Acorns' etc. Caroline has just rung up to thank us for her presents, I reminded her yesterday it is only two years to the big 4 0 for her, time flies doesn't it.

It will be interesting to see what this place evolves into Brian
Brian Walbey: I think the old saying 'from little Acorns' probably applies here Chris.

Wonderful point of view, Brian. And those tulips are wonderful and happy birthday to your daughter (if I read right)
Brian Walbey: It was the best viewpoint for this partly built station. Yes our Caroline is two years short of the big 4 0 today, time flies, it seems only yesterday she was a toddler.

Tulips are a favourite of mine, it's lovely to see them spring forth.
Brian Walbey: Yes we have quite a few, I've added a shot of another of Maureen's Tulip displays on Sundays post.

I'm sure it will be splendid once finished and perhaps look as though its always been there. Well done to all the volunteers.
Brian Walbey: Once again I suspect that a large injection of funds might see work moving on with this station.
I actually cut my grass yesterday evening and hope to do a bit this weekend

Your daughter and our Helen are the same age. Happy birthday to her
Brian Walbey: Maureen skimmed over ours the other day but Caroline gave it a really good cut yesterday as well as doing some other jobs we are finding it more difficult to do these days.
Two fine shots, Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tom.

A funny little wheelbarrow there on the right hand rail. Nice tulips and definitely a verrry nice daughter.
Brian Walbey: I think that thing on the rail is some sort of portable warning device that the track is coming to an end and there are no buffer stops. I have a great pair of ladies in my family Louis, and a good son as well of course.
