Elvaston Castle Walled Garden 7/7

The Elvaston Castle Old English Garden is a hidden gem within the grounds of the country park and is really worth a visit. This walled garden, although not large, was originally an area for plants under glass within which fruit, vegetables and exotic plants were grown for the Stanhope family. Redesigned in the 1970’s, it's now a quiet corner of the park.

In there is that delightful little corner you all seemed to like on my Friday post.

Something completely different from tomorrow for a few days, mainly male orientated but hopefully some of you ladies will find it enjoyable.

I like the somewhat over-grown look of the place, Brian.
Brian Walbey: I quite liked that look also, whether it was intended, bearing in mind a lot of the garden was quite tidy, or perhaps the gardeners still hadn't reached that area for some time.
> Nice pops of flower colours in the green... We're having 2 days of ice storms over here.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Jacquelyn. I don't quite think the weatehr knows what it is doing this year, we have had rain almost day after day now for several weeks, there's more to come this afternoon apparently!
Oh! nice to have the orientation... I like the stone work.
Are we in for trains???
Brian Walbey: This is a really nice corner of the garden, I guess oen day that shrub will grow rith across the archway. Tomorrow trains from a different approach and some buses too, all will be revealed smile

It is a quiet corner for contemplation in there
Brian Walbey: This is a really nice corner of the garden, I guess one day that shrub will grow right across the archway.
Greeny green!
Brian Walbey: Very much so Tom, it was mid spring when everywhere looks nice and green.
This really is the most charming garden Brian
Brian Walbey: Yes it is, it's not very big but quite pleasant.
Its a very English garden, Brian, quite lovely.
Brian Walbey: Yes very much so Frank.
