Elvaston Castle Walled Garden 5/7

The Elvaston Castle Old English Garden is a hidden gem within the grounds of the country park and is really worth a visit. This walled garden, although not large, was originally an area for plants under glass within which fruit, vegetables and exotic plants were grown for the Stanhope family. Redesigned in the 1970’s, it's now a quiet corner of the park.

This area is inside the area of the garden shown on my Sunday post.

A bench fit to be called a throne in this place...
Brian Walbey: Indeed Ray.
A lovely place to sit a while
Brian Walbey: It was that day.
I'll sit with Elizabeth....
Brian Walbey: And why not Frank.
I'll go join Elizabeth and Frank, as long as three is not a crowd?! smile
Brian Walbey: I'm sure it wouldn't be Ginnie, but if Maureen and I joined you, complete with packed lunch for all, and Astrid joined us as well we could have a right old Shutterchance chinwag.

a very green place - and a bench to sit down and to enjoy!
Brian Walbey: A really nice corner of the garden.

And now there is a bench you can sit on
Brian Walbey: There are a few dotted about, this is the nicest one I feel.

This is a delightful little corner where it must be really good to sit on a warm day.
Brian Walbey: Inded it is Chad.
I hope you took the opportunity to sit!
Brian Walbey: I can't remember to be honest Tom.

That statue against the tree is talking on the mobile phone. Seems to be an old malady, then.
Brian Walbey: I never thought of that, I must be one of the few people not walking about with a phone glued to my ear.
I would love to be there amongst the flowers. Lovely!
Brian Walbey: It is a nice corner of the garden Mary.

This is a gardeners dream to create something like this. I wouldn't mind having a rest on that bench.
Brian Walbey: Yes it is a lovely quiet corner of the garden. Perhaps you should read Ginnie's comment and my reply in association with those from Elizabeth and Frank.
A bench on a sunny day and a book, what more to deserve?
Brian Walbey: I can't think of anything much nicer apart from a coffee as well.

Now I bet you and your good lady took advantage of that seat at some point. I'd have to wait until the sun round and there was some shade.
Brian Walbey: I can't recall if we sat there or not, I prefer sitting in the shade to be honest.
I wish my garden looked like this Brian
Brian Walbey: Well we had our back garden re-landscaped last year but it isn't quite to this scale.
