Elvaston Castle Walled Garden 2/7

The Elvaston Castle Old English Garden is a hidden gem within the grounds of the country park and is really worth a visit. This walled garden, although not large, was originally an area for plants under glass within which fruit, vegetables and exotic plants were grown for the Stanhope family. Redesigned in the 1970’s, it's now a quiet corner of the park.

Good to get up close occasionally, Brian.
Brian Walbey: I ought to do more of this sort of work, I have just purchased a longer zoom so will try a few shots this summer in the way that you do using just a zoom lens.

Très jolie fleur avec de belles couleurs.
Brian Walbey: Poppies are lovely flowers but sadly they don't look like this for very long.
Such a bold color, isn't it! And I love that you kept the bud in the frame!
Brian Walbey: These were very fine Poppies, a favourite flower of Maureens, she has several nick nacks with Poppies on them. I thought including the bud added to the image.

These poppy flowers are so bright but their lives are fleeting
Brian Walbey: yes it's a shame that they don't stay looking like this for very long.
